We had our first doctor's visit and we were so nervous. We really didn't know what to expect, and I think we needed to see the baby, because the little pregnancy symptoms weren't enough. I wanted to see for myself, since there is no bump yet! :)
We were at Fort Sanders Regional bright and early Wednesday, the 7th. Steven seemed uncomfortable in an OBGYN office, but I loved that he could be there. They took us straight back for the ultrasound. A few seconds later there was our little jelly bean. The head towards the bottom of the uterus, and measured right at 8 weeks. (Which is how far along we estimated.) We got to hear the heartbeat, which I think made both of our hearts skip a beat. It was amazing! BTW, I love every single person who works for that group! Every nurse, doctor, and even the billing office is full of the nicest people, which is great when you're not quite sure what all is going on. :)
The due date is set for July 20th, 2012.
As far as those pregnancy symptoms go, I haven't had it that bad. I get queasy/nauseous randomly, but I'm not usually overwhelmed by it. I found if I eat small meals every couple of hours my body is much happier. I'm also tired all the time! I could seriously sleep 10 hours a night and take a few naps a day. Steven likes to make fun of me for how much I sleep on my days off, but hey I should get all the sleep while I can right! :)
