It's positive!

Steven and I have been trying to get pregnant for a little over 10 months.  I've tried not to over think it, and constantly tell myself it will happen when God wants it to.   BUT, it's pretty obvious I'm a little of a control freak.   Well, God decided it was time for us to have a baby.

Before the pregnancy test....

One of the first indications I had that my body was changing was when we went for sushi.   We are obsessed with the "Pizza" roll at Nama, and had to run out for lunch.   As usual, we each knew 1 roll wouldn't cut it, so we each got two.   When the first one came out, my mouth was watering.  It LOOKED so amazing!   One bite in, and something wasn't right.   It tasted the same, but my stomach didn't seem to share the same passion for the Asian cuisine.   I took a few more bites, and quickly had to put down my chopsticks.  I could not eat the sushi!

To avoid getting my own hopes up, I wrote it off to just being stressed.  But, I couldn't help but think this might be it.

A few days later it was time for my period to start.   Nothing.

At this point, I'm really trying to not get ahead of myself.  Although, about every 6 hours I was informing Steven that I hadn't started.  Of course, he pointed out that he didn't need play-by-play.  :)

Three Days Late....

Steven was at work that Friday evening.  Brittany and I had plans to do some Christmas shopping.  Everything baby related that I saw I wanted to buy.  Now, that's nothing new for me.   But, it did remind me that I needed to take the all important test.

I got home and couldn't take it anymore.    Within 2 minutes, there it was.  Two crisp lines screaming your pregnant!

Of course, I was afraid to believe.   So, test number two.  Yet again, positive.  I never thought two little lines could make a girl so happy!!!!

I think I went into some weird time loop, because I was circling, pacing, talking to myself, starting to cry, laughing, and trying to sit down all at once.  Here I was home alone, and the dogs are circling me because I'm acting like a crazy person!

Let the crazy out....

I've picked up a few baby items over the past year, as Steven and I have planned to start a family.   One in particular is a soccer ball pattern bib, with the words "Lil' Spain."   Steven being the huge soccer fan that he is, I saved that as the perfect way to tell him.   An adorable little soccer ball rattle would make the perfect addition, so I threw them in an inconspicuous plastic bag.

When Steven got home, I mentioned that I got him something while Brittany and I were out shopping.  (I'm notorious for giving gifts long before the actual holiday the present was intended for.)   Steven smiled, and opened it up.   He seemed confused by the rattle, so pushed the bag to him again and said there's more.   He pulled out the bib and knew.

He just smiled and said, "You're pregnant."  I've never seen him smile so big!  (Of course, by this point in the night my face was hurting from smiling so much.)

"We did it!"  That's all I could say.
